I am Anthony's ....
Tony as he would rather be called was born in Newport Pagnell to Peter & Moira, Tony also had two brothers and a sister, Gary, Darren & Dona. His Nan Cassford was a very special person in his life.
Tony grew up in Dean Hanger Buckinghamshire, He attended school there gaining many GCSEs Tony was a bright pupil & enjoyed studying. Although one incident wasnt so clever his father remembers him trying out smoking in his garden shed & setting it alight.
Tony always had an interest for cooking & so on leaving school attended the college in bedford for catering to train as a chef. Throughout his life Tonys main passion was cooking, he enjoyed making meals for his family & friends even though they would always leave him with the washing up. Tony changed careers for a while & worked as a manager of a bingo hall & then joined the QEII as an officer on the caterng staff: He really loved this job & spend many happy years travelling all over the world on board this beautiful ship. His ashes where scattered in the wake of the QEII a fitting tribute to the life he spent onboard her.
He then started work at london Weekend telivision meeting many stars & doing a party for Shirley Basseys 60th birthday, he also met other stars like Bruce Forsyth, Trisha, Chris Quinten and George Williams. After this Tony worked in a nightclub in london, He was also a drag artist for a while and made many god friends including Maisie Trollop & the Dutchess.
In 2001 Tony Spent six happy months travelling around Australia, he then moved to Brighton where he ran a pub own there. A few other jobs went by & eventualy Tony moved to the Isle Of Wight to live with his parner Russell, they had met on the internet & became really close friends. Tony decided to come down to the island on the 9th February 2004, the same year he took his partner Russell to Paris for a long weekend visiting the Effel Tower but Russell didnt have a head for heights & hated the glass bottom lift, Tony found this really amusing. Another great memory was a day trip to London for a photographic shoot which Tony had won, we were pampered for the day & many great photos were taken of us, one which holds pride of place in my home.
Tony did have a naughty side to him & often found it amusing to sneak goods into unsuspecting customers trolleys without them knowing eveery time he went into the store he expected an announcement over the tannoy warning shoppers that he was n the store.
Tony would help anyone & was a brilliant guy. Each sunday he would cook a roast dinner for Russell, his mother & son John, but woe beide anyone that wanted tomatoe sauce on it. Tony started work in several hotels on the island before falling ill Tony enjoyed his saturday evenings out with Russell & vry often Tony would get all the elderly people up dancing Tony particularly liked Elvis music.
Tony lost contact with his family for a while, and was very pleased when his father remarried & his new wife Terry had searched for Tony & reunited them, for this he was very grateful.
In 2007 Tony & Russell took over running one of the many car boot sales on the island, this was something they both enjoyed doing . Tony also loved his pets Ollie & Casper his cats & his soft toy collection of Winnie the pooh bears.
He was a man who loved his life he wa a happy go lucky man and always lived his life to the full At the end of his life he had found happiness with Russell, sadly passing away in hospital on April 17th 2008. God bless Tony rest in peace your life with us no longer sharedbut in our hearts youll always be there.
