FORMER BRADFORD BULLS PLAYER) died in a horrific motorway accident.

David Myers, who played at Bradford during pre-Super League days when the club was known as Bradford
Northern,

The chairman of the Bradford Bulls has expressed his “shock and sadness” at the accident that
killed one of the club’s former players.

Mr Myers, 37, who played for the club as a winger in the mid-1990s, was killed when his van hit a
bridge support on the M6 motorway at 8.49pm on Monday.

It happened about 90 minutes before a crash on the same stretch of road in which a family of six
died, Cheshire Police said.

Bulls chairman Peter Hood said: “A sudden death of someone who played in the red, amber and black
is always a sad moment. The club’s condolences go out to his family in this desperately tragic
situation. Although rugby league is a global game, it’s still quite a close-knit community and
it’s shocking to hear of an incident like this.”

Stuart Duffy, spokesman for the club, said: “As a former Bradford Bulls player we are absolutely
devastated that David was killed in such tragic circumstances. Our sympathy goes out to his
family.”

Mr Myers signed for Bradford in 1994 and scored 12 tries in his debut season.

The winger will also be remembered for the 1991 Challenge Cup Final where he scored a vital try at
Wembley to help Wigan defeat St Helens, 13-8. He also played for Salford and Widnes.

Pat Cluskey, Widnes’s operations manager, said: “David was a popular member of the Widnes team
and will no doubt be remembered by many for his celebration as Widnes beat Leeds in the 1993
Challenge Cup Semi-Final at Central Park.

“The side’s performance that day was straight out of the textbook and one that was worthy of
winning a place at Wembley.”

A Warrington Wolves spokesman said: “Everyone at Warrington Wolves sends their condolences to his
family and friends at this very sad time. David made six appearances for the Wire in the 1989-1990
season after signing from Widnes.”

Angels visit every day
each day our whole life through.
Angels quietly whisper
the things we shouldnt do
Angels give us loving hugs
when lifes too much to bear
Angels always stay with us
when noone seems to care.
Angels are invisible
but Angels arent a dream
Angels are companions
whose love is never seen.

Memorial Poems Left For David

Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household world that it always was,
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It it the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,

All My Love Anne xx
