Malcolm Allison, the football player and manager who died on October 14 aged 83, brought a welcome touch of style, both on and off the pitch,to that low, dishevelled decade, the 1970s.
The dark sinister clouds which had engulfed this city throughout "Black Friday" had disappeared. The sun shone down as the first trickle of fans arrived to pay their final tributes to one of the greatest coaches in the history of English football.
Big Mal" has cemented his place in the history of Manchester City Football Club.
A great tribure left from a fan wrote -To the greatest coach this country has ever produced. For the belief and loyalty you had in others, rest well Malcolm.
